Wart (known as Mamu in Japan), is a huge frog that is the main antagonist of Doki Doki Panic, the game which would eventually see release in the US as "Super Mario Bros. 2."
Super Mario Bros. 2[]
It is unknown how Wart entered Subcon, but he took over the Subcon of Subcon using his large army of Shy Guys and creating the Nightmare Machine that would make everybody stop having good dreams. His henchmen spread out on Subcon's 7 areas. Meanwhile, Mario and co. are having a picnic at the beach until they see a door, followed by a huge stairway which leads to Subcon. Mario and his friends went through the 7 worlds, defeated Wart's army, and finally Wart himself, which is thrown into a dream world near Hyrule, as seen in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, where he is now a protagonist which teaches Link an ear-screeching song.
The Legend of the Bondings[]
Wart appears in Chapter 5 as a stick figure with one (horribly drawn) Shy Guy. He has been turned into a stick figure by the XD002s, and because of this, he has lost his bubble-spitting power and was defeated in a few minutes flat.
In Bowser's Kingdom[]
Wart made a one-shot appearance in Bowser's Kingdom, only seen in the fifth episode, when Hal and Jeff are forced to come up with yet another plan to revive Princess Toadstool, this time obtaining a 1-UP mushroom from Wart after feeding him one of his own children. They use the mushroom to revive Peach but forget to move the iron ball first, forcing them to repeat the entire procedure again in order to obtain another mushroom but Wart passes out while Kamek appears onscreen, spraying him with his magic.
